The Delegation Headed by Galust Sahakyan had a Meeting with the Mayor of Hiroshima
On February 1st, the Major of Hiroshima (Japan) Kazumi Matsu received the delegation headed by the President of the National Assembly of RA Galust Sahakyan, in which there were the deputies of the National Assembly of RA Vahram Baghdasaryan, Rouzanna Muradyan and Samvel Pharmanyan, the Deputy Minister of the Foreign Affairs of RA Armen Papikyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of RA in Japan Hrant Poghosyan. The Mayor has thanked the Armenian delegation for visiting Hiroshima and has assured that though the cooperation between Hiroshima and Yerevan are on a descent level he is ready to further deepen it, especially taking into consideration the fact that Yerevan has been included in the organization “Mayors for Peace”. Mayor Kazumi Matsu has expressed hope that other cities of Armenia would also join that organization.
The President of the National Assembly of RA Galust Sahakyan thanked for the warm reception and mentioned “We are impressed to see what spectacular achievements Japan has reached due to the effective strategy of development during these years”.
The delegation headed by the President of the National Assembly of RA Galust Sahakyan had also visited Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, where they got acquainted with the facts evidencing the atomic bombing. Honoring the memory of the innocent victims the President of the National Assembly of RA Galust Sahakyan laid a wreath at the Memorial of innocent victims.
Galust Sahakyan has left notes in the Memory Books of the High Ranking Guests of Hiroshima Municipality and Hiroshima Peace Museum.
After Hiroshima, the Parliamentary delegation of RA has visited Kyoto City, where they went to the temples of Kiyomizu-dera and Kinkaku-ji and to the shrine Hein Jingu.
