On March 30, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of Japan signed a grant agreement “Program for the Improvement of the Equipment Envisaged for the Digitization of Archive Records of the Public TV of Armenia”.

In the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan, the agreement was signed from the Armenian side by the Minister of Transportation, Communication and Information Technologies of RA Vahan Martirosyan and from the Japanese side by the Ambassador of Japan in RA Eiji Taguchi.

At the event there were present the chief representative of the office of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Katsutoshi Fushimi, the chairman of Armenia-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group of the  National Assembly of RA Samvel Farmanyan, the president of the council of the Armenian Public TV and Radio Company Ruben Jaghinyan.

In the sequel of the signed agreement, the Minister of Transportation, Communication and Information Technologies of RA Vahan Martirosyan, the chief representative of JICA office of Katsutoshi Fushimi and the Executive Director of the Public TV Margarita Grigoryan signed a grant document, which will regulate the provision of corresponding goods and/or services.

In his speech delivered after the signing ceremony, the Minister of Transportation, Communication and Information Technologies of RA Vahan Martirosyan, highlighting the importance of agreement signed today, mentioned that it was another step towards the development of cooperation between the two countries.

In his turn, the Ambassador of Japan in the Republic of Armenia emphasized that after the assistance towards the maintenance of the documents of Matenadaran, it was the second suchlike cooperation between the two governments. In the words of the ambassador, the archive not only maintains the national heritage but it also inspires the young generation to create new works for the future.
