On May 27 at 19:00 p. m. young pianist Shio Okui had a concert at  “Hikari” Armenian-Japanese scientific-cultural center. She has arrived in Armenia to participate in the international festival “New Names”, where the representatives of 11 countries take part. Shio is a winner of numerous international festivals. She is 10 years old. There were present the employees of the Embassy of Japan in RA, the Japanese living in Armenia, the organizers of the festival “New Names”, the members of the center and other official guests.
The event was opened by the president of armenian-japanese-“Hikari” center Karine Piliposyan: “Tomorrow, already for the 5th time in Yerevan, in Yerevan Philharmonic Hall there will take place the “International Festival of Young Musicians”. The festival is held under the high auspices of the wife of the President of the Republic of Armenia Mrs. Rita Sargsyan. This year we have more than 40 participants from nearly 45 different countries: Armenia, Russia, Georgia, Japan has been included for the first time, USA, Germany, Australia and many other countries. And we are very glad that the representative of the country of the rising sun will perform for the first time in Armenia. We were looking forward to her performance, because the musicians have already known about her from “Shelkunchik” international contest, where she has been the winner. And we are truly glad that today she is our guest. And tomorrow at 3 p. m. we invite you to come to the Opera theatre, where Shio together with the Armenian State Orchestra will perform the third part of Beethoven’s piano concert.
After the 40 minutes’ wonderful play of young pianist Shio Okui,
