The Government of Japan invites to apply for the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) Programme, in fiscal year 2017 (April 2017- March 2018).
Reflecting the Japanese Government’s strong commitment to uphold the concept of “Human Security”, GGP programme intends to contribute to improvements in various fields including education, health, social welfare, vocational training, as well as other sectors.
The overall goal of GGP is to enhance the wellbeing of people at the grassroots level, based on the concept of human security.

ELIGIBLE RECIPIENTS
Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), Local Government, Public schools, Educational, Research and Medical Institutes

PROJECT AREAS
    Education: Primary education, illiteracy reduction, vocational training, human resource development in communities.
    Health: Primary health care, family planning, HIV/AIDS, rehabilitation for people with disabilities, and communicable diseases.
    Others: Disaster prevention, Environmental protection, social welfare for people with disabilities, street children and the elderly, gender issues, women’s empowerment, and education for girls.

  Note: The priority is given to the  projects which are in line with Japanese Assistance Policy for the Republic of Armenia

SELECTION CRITERIA

• Capability of the proponent (including track record, financial management capacity, implementation capability and monitoring system, etc.)
• Project feasibility
• Sustainability
• Appropriateness and cost-effectiveness of the requested grant
• Necessity, urgency and impact

GRANT AMOUNT:
The grant amount per project generally cannot exceed 10 million JPY (approximately US$ 100,000)

ENGLISH-BASE APPLICATION: 
All the required documents shall be presented in English.

DEADLINE FOR THE APPLICATION:
Deadline for the early application for fiscal Year 2017 is June 30, 2017
Deadline for the late application for fiscal Year 2017 is September 30, 2017
