On May 25, 2016 A Grant Agreement was signed between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of Japan

On May 25, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia took place the ceremony of signing a grant agreement between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of Japan, which was signed in the form of exchanging notes.

The above-mentioned agreement was signed by the Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia Mr. Haykaram Mkhitaryan, from the Armenian side and by the Ambassador of Japan to RA Mr. Eiji Taguchi from the Japanese side.

The grant is targeted to support the economic and social development of Armenia. The Agreement envisages to provide Armenia a grant with the amount of 200 million yen (approximately 2 million US Dollars) for the procurement of corresponding goods. The goal of the program is donation of the goods to the developing countries, which are produced in the areas suffered from the earthquake in Japan in 2011.
