Transport

It is very convenient and cheap to move with the tickets of Japan Railway JR (Japan Rail Pass). We recommend you buy a 7-day travel ticket (Japan Rail Pass 7 days). About the same amount of money that will be spent to go from Tokyo to Kyoto by Japanese high-speed train. You can have practically unlimited 7-day travel with JR railway company.
In the same way in large living place such as Tokyo or Osaka one day traffic ticket (1-day Pass) and other types of underground traffic tickets give tourists an excellent opportunity to reduce transportation costs. They allow unlimited use of local public transport. Such traffic tickets are very useful for those who want to travel in a certain area at a certain time, but don’t want to bother them by buying frequently tickets. Food

In Japan public-food is not necessarily expensive. But comparing with other countries, eating during traveling is a little more expensive than normal. A few advices on how you can eat delicious and cheap. Fast food items can be found near the railway station. Here you can eat  cheaply in a simple environment. Not to mention the places where you can buy hamburgers and sandwiches.
Here you can easily find a lot of Japanese style fast food places specialized in the preparation of dishes such as  “gyudon” (rice cooked beef with onion),  “Tendon” (rice with tempura) as well as soba, noodle (noodles) and udon. In Fast Food places you can eat usually 500 yenits (about 5 U.S. dollars) less and in some places it  is possible to have breakfast at  lower price. In shops, in entertainment places and in business  centers there are  restaurants that offer affordable prices for meals on weekdays   (ranging from 600-900 yen (about U.S. $ 6-9)). There you will be given the opportunity to choose Japanese or Western cuisine with a large selection of standard menu. Dinner at restaurants is usually from 11:00 till 14:00. Sushi is not always expensive, except for some expensive restaurants. “Kaiten dzusi”, where the pair finished sushi dishes are served with a rotating conveyer each plate, cost only 100 yen (about U.S. $ 1). Sushi, offering in other places standard package for one person, costs about 1500 yen (about 15 U.S. dollars) and above. Complex sushi dinner menu you can enjoy for about 800 yen (about U.S. $ 8). Department stores basement- it’s usually a floor with a numerous food shelves, where you can buy a variety of foods and boxes of food.  By your desire select one or two boxes and enjoy them in a nearby park.

Shopping

Most available stores are so called 100 yen shops where you can buy everything by 100 yen, a little bit cheaper than 1 dollar. The number of stores is constantly growing. Different products, food, everyday products sold at the standard price of 100 yen/item. These stores are located next to the train station and in trade items. Here you can find small gifts, such as Japanese dishes and a lot of other things.
As for consumer electronics, first of all, it is recommended to visit Tokyo Aykihabara district. Here there is an amazing variety of household appliances. Down JR/Japanese railways/Aykihabara station, which is in Japanese railways Yamamoto line and in front of your eyes commercial establishments will appear standing side by side with each other, including retail shops, spare parts shops stores, spare parts and technical components of the shops. In Japan, twice a year in stores, especially supermarket chains, huge discounts are being held during which the previous season clothing and many other products are sold with subsidized prices. If you manage to enter the department store during discounts, you may be astonished with “30% discount” and “50% off” written on the labels. Discounts are usually in January and July.
