On 14.03.2015 at 18:00, in the building of Artists’ Union of Armenia there took place the opening ceremony of interesting Japanese event organized by the Embassy of Japan in RAand “Hikari” Armenian-Japanese Scientific, Educational and Cultural Center. First spoke the president of “Hikari” Armenian-Japanese Scientific, Educational and Cultural CenterKarine Piliposyan presenting the event and its participants. Particularly she mentioned that on March 14 after the opening ceremony there would be a lesson of ikebana. She presented the woman, who would conduct the lesson. Then she mentioned that on March 15 at 10:00-12:00 there would be a master class of Sumi-e painting, at 14:00-16:00 exhibition of tea ceremony and at 19:00-21:00 exhibition of kimonos.
After finishing her speech, she gave the floor to the acting ambassador of Japan in RA Mr. Kenichiro Sasame, who in fluent and literate Armenian for ten minutes spoke about the positive sides of strengthening Armenian-Japanese ties.
Then the children, who knew Japanese, conducted a ten-minute’ theatrical performance of Haiku poems. After that at 19:00 o’clock, the Japanese master of ikebana demonstrating mastery to the audience started to tell about that art and its history,which was understood by the non-Japanese audience due to the interpreter Lilit Khansulyan.

The master of ikebana finished her speech by making a unique ballon ikebana with the balloons jointly inflated by the audience.

Then the audience, who were registered beforehand and were fewer in number and who were given comfortable tables, after being given appropriate tools started to prepare their own ikebana. After finishing the works, the Japanese master of ikebana approached each of them and if it was necessary, she corrected their works.

After the event, the audience who had made an ikebana took his ikebana and returned home in good mood.
