March 11, 2011: there was a 9 magnitude earthquake in the south-east of Japan. Approximately 16.000 people died, nearly everything was destroyed.  Japan – two years after the earthquake.

December 7, 1988: there was an earthquake in Armenia. Within seconds the earthquake totally ruined the town of Spitak, destroyed the towns of  Gyumri, Vanadzor and Stepanavan, it had greatly damaged the towns of  Dilijan, Ijevan, Alaverdi, Artik, Akhuryan and other towns and settlements, it ruined more than 350 villages.  25.000 people became the victims of the disaster. 25 years have passed since that tragic day.

And please don’t blame me that I see only the bad, that I don’t notice the Gyumri that is prospering day by day, the traffic lights that are situated on the roads and the marks that are refreshed daily. I see all this, but seeing people who live in such conditions I cannot keep silent, all this doesn’t worth a penny… I’d like to present many photos like this one, but unfortunately we have what we have… and our day of sorrow has become a day of shame…
