議事堂公園で祝われた日本花見

On March 29, in the RA National Assembly Park Hanami festival was celebrated, and an opening ceremony of the signboard on Japanese sakuras was held. The latter announces that the trees were planted in the Parliament Park for the token of the Armenian and Japanese peoples’ friendship.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov, the members of the RA NA Armenia-Japan Friendship Groupthe Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia Eiji Taguchi took part in the event.

The launch of the book The Armenian-Japanese Historical and Cultural Connections by the Armenologist, Candidate of Philological Sciences Artsvi Bakhchinyan took place.

Welcoming the participants, the Head of the NA Armenia-Japan Friendship Group Samvel Farmanyan highlighted the organization of the event which had become traditional in the parliament. He touched upon the book being presented, where, according to the speaker, the author in detail collected and brought together encyclopedic knowledge and stories. By the deputy’s assessment, the Armenian-Japanese relations are presented in a new way.

Artsvi Bakhchinyan has thanked the MPs for organizing the book launch, talked about the two peoples’ commonalities which are numerous irrespective of the geographical distance. “I don’t consider the work completed, it will continue,” the author of the book noted, adding that he has worked on it for 15 years.

The tree decoration gave a unique breath to the event which presented the children of the Armenian-Japanese Scientific, Educational and Cultural Centre Hikari, combining the Armenian Tsarzardar (tree decoration) and the Japanese Hanami Spring holidays.

Let us note that on 12 May 2015 on the initiative Japan-Armenia Union, Armenia-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group and the v.ann LTD sakuras imported from Japan were planted in the National Assembly Park. This year the event was also organized by the efforts of Armenia-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group and the v.ann LTD.
