In Japan they have created houses, which in case of an earthquake can be lifted from the earth surface for several inches and stay in that position until the end of the earthquake.

This technology was developed still in the past decade but the attention was drawn to it after the devastating earthquake in the country in 2011.

The system developed by the designers of “Air Danshin Systems Inc.” has a powerful airbag, which allows the house in case of necessity to lift from the ground on time.

The sensitive sensor is capable of previously detecting the start of the seismic activity. It gives an alarm, which activates the air compressor. It is noted that only a few seconds are required for the bag to be filed with air. The bag is situated between the house and its base.

The thickness of the airbag is several inches but that’s quite enough to avoid the earthquake damages.
