Lia Abrahamyan’s Kusudama Exhibition (video)

On December 18, 2016, from 17:00 to 18:00 p. m. at AEON Tea Club took place the opening of the exhibition sale of approximately 50  “Kusudamas” Japanese origami made by Lia Abrahamyan.

The exhibition sale will be open in this club until New Year. There was also a master class, in which there participated mainly children, who were very much interested in it.

The “Kusudama” exhibition is a result of Lia Abrahamyan’s devotion to the Japanese culture, due to which the participants had a chance to know and to approach this world.

For years, the author has studied and has become skilled in the art of folding paper, which is widespread in Japan and which is called origami. Kusudama is one of the numerous developments of origami and one of its branches. Kusudama is translated from Japanese as “a healing ball” meaning the bunch made from incense or dried flowers and the aroma that spreads around after their burning.

Afterwards, they started to make kusudamas from paper, the parts of which can vary from 6 to 60 and more components.

This separate exhibition dedicated to kusudamas is unique in Armenia due to its theme, selected samples and the skill of performance.
