On February 11, during the concert–presentation at Chamber Music House named after Komitas there were presented for the first time Yamaha new musical instruments provided to the Armenian State Chamber Orchestra in the frameworks of “Grassroots” Grant Project of the Government of Japan – a grand piano, a goser, big and small drums, a xylophone, a glockenspiel, tubular bells, a clavinova and a background sound system. At the concert-presentation there performed the Armenian State Chamber Orchestra under the direction of the conductor Robert Mlkeyan and the pianist Svetlana Navasardyan. Concert program: Y. S. Bach – Concert Re Minor, Bizet/Shchedrin “Carmen-suit” for the string orchestra and percussionists.

There were present at the event the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia – Ara Khzmalyan, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan in the Republic of Armenia – Jun Yamada, the Director of the State Center of Chamber Music – Norayr Nazaryan. Before the start of the concert the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan in the Republic of Armenia – Jun Yamada mentioned that the Armenians are one of the most musical nations and there isn’t such a language that unites people more than music.

“It is a great honor for Japan to support the development of musical life in Armenia. YAMAHA brand embodies the Japanese approach to perfection and constant innovations. And we appreciate the other wonderful musical instruments of this brand. Let’s hope that parallel to the restart of full and active musical life, Armenia will move forward overcoming all the difficulties of the previous year. Japan wants to be beside Armenia in these times of great restoration and new goals”, highlighted the ambassador.

In the frameworks of the program there took place the opening ceremony of the memorial plaque. “The project of the provision of musical instruments to the Armenian State Chamber Orchestra was carried out by the State Center of Chamber Music, with the support of the Embassy of Japan to the Republic of Armenia in the frameworks of the “Grasssroots” Cultural Grant Program (GCGP)”, is written on the memorial plaque.
