The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of the Republic of Armenia together with the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Armenia is organizing “Budo” festival of Japanese martial arts, which will take place from September 8 to 11.

It was announced today during a press conference, which has taken place at the hall of the ministry by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan Mr. Eiji Taguchi, the sensei of Japan Shinjuku Kendo Federation Mr. Mitsunori Matsumura, the President of Karate Federation of Armenia Mr. Grigor Mikhayelyan, the Vice-President of Judo Federation of Armenia Mr. Davit Khitaryan and the President of “Kendo” club of Armenia Mr. Arthut Pogosyan.

On the final day of the festival, more than 200 representatives of Judo, Aikido Aikikai, Budoshin and Karate Federations of Armenia will have demonstrative performances at the sport hall of “Dinamo” sports NGO. Highly qualified masters, who have arrived from Japan, will also have demonstrative performances. In the frameworks of the festival, the senseis of Japanese Kendo martial arts will conduct two-day seminars in Yerevan and Vanadzor.

Note that agreement on conducting the festival was reached between the Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Mr. Gabriel Ghazaryan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan in the Republic of Armenia Mr. Eiji Taguchi  still in May during the meeting, which has taken place at the ministry.
