Dialogue between the Japanese and Armenian Writers at Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University(video)

On November 23, at Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University delivered a lecture the Japanese writer Matsugu Ono, who has received “Akugawa” prestigious award for his work “A Prayer 9 years ago”. In his speech, Mr. Matsugu Ono mentioned that by saying Japan many people understand Tokyo. Perhaps, it is conditioned by the fact that the majority of writers write stories only about Tokyo, and, in fact, Japan is very diverse. He was born and brought up in a small settlement of Kyusyu Island, where in front of you was the sea and behind there were mountains. In his short stories, he writes about this scenery and people living there.

The speech of Matsugu Ono was succeeded by the dialogue with the Armenian writer Aram Pachyan, who agreed with Mr. Matsugu Ono’s by saying that the same problem now has Armenia. The majority of people by saying Armenia understand Yerevan and actually, it is far from reality. After the dialogue, there were questions from the audience, and the guests answered them with pleasure. The event was organized by the Embassy of Japan in Armenia. It was the beginning of the week of Japanese cultural events in Yerevan.
