国立美術館で日本の浮世絵の展覧会が開催されました

Today on November 8, the National Gallery of Armenia for the second time opened Ukiyo-e wood carving exhibition. First time such an exhibition was organized in 1994. During the exhibition over 40 works were represented which had been created in the 19th century. It will last about a month. Exhibition partners are the Armenian-Japanese “Hikari” scientific center and Armenian representative of “JT International Luxembourg SA ” company. The exhibition opening ceremony was attended by Cikakhito Harada, the Russian Federation extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Japan, Hasmik Poghosyan, Minister of culture of the Republic of Armenian and other honored guests .
Ukiyo-Japanese wood carving, which was created and developed in the XVII-XVIII centuries, is a unique phenomenon in the world culture. In their work Ukiyo-e wood carving masters shape the daily poetry. The approval of daily aesthetic value was reflected in the origin of name which borrowed from Buddhist terminology where it was used for the definition of secular life and in 1682 it was first used to apply for a new direction.
