According to Gallup’s Law and Order Index Armenia is the 9th spot among 141 countries with 82% of adult Armenians feeling quite safe while walking home alone at night in the city or area where they live.
The highest scores 91% are recorded in Hong Kong and Singapore, in contrast the lowest 22% is in Venezuela; the country with second-highest murder rate in the world after Honduras.
Norway is also outstanding at 86%, followed by Spain, Rwanda and Indonesia, all tied at 85%.
The report is based on more than 142,000 interviews with adults in 141 countries in 2014.
Gallup’s Law and Order Index uses three questions to gauge people’s sense of personal security in their neighborhoods and their personal experiences with crime and law enforcement.
In the city or area where you live, do you have confidence in the local police force?
Do you feel safe walking alone at night in the city or area where you live?
