The President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sargsyan has received the Ambassador of Japan to Armenia

Today the President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sargsyan has received the Ambassador of Japan to Armenia Jun Yamada.

On behalf of the Government of Japan the Ambassador expressed gratitude to the President Sargsyan for the visit to his country last October and for the participation in the enthronement ceremony of the Emperor of Japan in Tokyo. He mentioned that the meetings, which had taken place in Tokyo, are new stimulus for the development of bilateral relations.

In his turn President Sargsyan said that he had wonderful memories and impressions from the visit to Japan and from the historical event of the enthronement of Emperor Naruhito.

Assessing his meetings with the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and the heads of major Japanese companies effective, President Sargsyan said that they provide good basis for the expansion of cooperation. Mentioning that days ago he had another meeting in Davos with the chairman of the board of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the President of Armenia said that he had invited him and his companions to Armenia in order to continue the discussion of the perspectives of cooperation and collaboration of joint projects in the sphere of high technologies, especially in the spheres of artificial intelligence and large data flow management in the frameworks of АТОМ (Advanced Tomorrow) initiative.

They also touched upon the possibilities of expansion of cooperation in the spheres of nuclear safety and regulations, including the management of nuclear wastes.
