PHOTO:Visiting Yugawara Town

At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Yoshifumi Naito, Mayor of Yugawara, Ambassador Monika Simonyan visited the town of Yugawara in Kanagawa Prefecture together with a group of colleagues from countries to which she is accredited. During the visit, the Ambassador held meetings with the Mayor of Yugawara as well as with Karen Makishima, a member of the House of Representatives of Japan, who had contributed to the organization of the familiarization visit.

The diplomats visited the Yugawara Art Museum and the Tivoli confectionery factory. At the Mirakuan confectionery shop, they learned about the traditional Japanese methods of making sweets and also participated in the “Yu-kake Matsuri” festival.
